Calendered

The most commonly used vinyl for self adhesive applications. Calendered vinyl is available in two main forms: monomeric and polymeric.

Monomeric

Monomeric is the most economical vinyl available. Suitable for flat surfaces. Monomeric is for short term outdoor promotional or internal use only. Monomeric vinyl should not be used for vehicle graphics and it will shrink faster than the following self adhesive vinyls when used outdoors, therfore you should consider polymeric or cast vinyl.

Polymeric

Polymeric is a fantastic vinyl for simple vehicle graphics (not wrapping), outdoor signage and many other uses. Suitable for flat and slightly curved substrates.

At StickaLex, we only offer laminated polymeric vinyl. Lamination is a single sided, self adhesive, clear film that offers extra protection to the ink. Lamination is perfect for guarding the print from the elements.

Ideal for: Shop signage, vehicle graphics, longer term external window graphics, handled items (such as bottle labels and controller skins)

Cast

Cast vinyl is the highest performing vinyl, but also the most expensive. Its suitable for recesses such as vehicle bumpers. Cast vinyl is the only vinyl that should be used for vehicle wrapping due to its stability.

At StickaLex, we only offer laminated cast vinyl, for the same reasons as above. Last thing you want when washing your vehicle wrap is the ink coming off! Solvent ink is durable and scratch resistant without lamination, but lamination is essentially your clear coat (in car paint terms: think vinyl as your primer, ink is your paint, laminate is your lacquer – forget two pack paint for this analogy!)
